We're proud to present the world's best Supply Curve utility for Microsoft Excel. Using our MSCChart Add-In, you can easily create supply curve charts from your data in Excel. Unlike other packages which provide a static picture of the supply chart in a dialog box, our version provides a fully editable Excel chart. You can add annotations, notes, and titles, just as in any other Excel chart. A supply curve is a graphical representation of a supply schedule. The supply curve is drawn with prices plotted on the y-axis and the number of units of the good or service supplied along the horizontal axis. Where the law of supply applies to the particular market under consideration, the supply curve will slope (either gently or steeply) upwards from left to right. The supply curve is different from a column chart. The width of each column in a supply curve chart indicates the number of units that the supplier was able to sell. This is not a chart type natively supported by Excel. The Engineering and Graphics Division of MrExcel.com Consulting developed this custom add-in using Visual Basic for Applications

In 2006, the utility is improved as follows:

  • Creates a native Excel chart – resizing the plot area will still keep the chart meaningful.
  • You can format the colors of individual series like a normal Excel chart.
  • It can tackle negative cost per unit values
  • You can scale the y-axis
